Green Shoes
So you've finally got my destiny in the palm of your hands
What are you going to do
I've got you what you wanted and I've done what you've planned
So what are you going to do
I've got iron on my ankles and steel at my throat
Tell me what are you going to do
I'm supposed to be the one with total control
What are you going to do
You can point your fingers you can beat the nails
I could tell you the truth but you'll never believe it
My parents always taught me to love everybody
But you tell me...
My parents always taught me to love everybody
But not like this...
Once upon a time there was a little old lady
She lived in a house all alone with only her plants by her side
One day these innocent plants curled around the cord to her steel lungs
They pulled the cord out of the wall and watched her die
They did it out of love, love, love
but not like this!
So you've finally got my destiny in the palm of your hand
What are you going to do
I'm wrapped around your finger, I've done what you planned
Now what are you going to do
You've got warehouses full of weapons, aircraft armed and aimed at me
So what are you going to do
While taxpayers money buys war technology
If you plan to destroy my world with a big red switch
I won't aid in the cause, I won't hide in a ditch
And even though i have over ten years food in my shelter
I'm going to stand straight and tall when the sirens blast
I would rather die quickly then from radiation scars
Blisters don't do justice to my complexion or my sores
And when the knuckles start rapping on my solid front door......
Tell me what are you going to do
